Film Screening and Workshop with Professor Chad A. Stevens

Join Appalachian Voices for a free film screening and workshop with Professor Chad A. Stevens of the UNC School of Media and Journalism.

The event is on Friday, April 27, from 6 – 9 p.m. in Room 169 of the Plemmons Student Union at Appalachian State University. We will screen the documentary Overburden which tells the story of local community organizing in West Virginia coal country. The film will be followed by a workshop, facilitated by the film maker — Chad A. Stevens, Associate Prof. at UNC School of Media and Journalism — about power and privilege in the environmental justice movement.
